Hotels.com allows travel goers to book a range of hotels, B&Bs and other types of accommodation in around 19,000 locations worldwide. It started off as the Hotels Reservations Network (HRN) in 1991, later becoming a part of Expedia in 2001. Later, it changed its name to Hotels.com in 2002.

In its earliest form, it provided bookings through a toll-free number in the US. However, it was later acquired by USA Networks which was also affiliated with Expedia, an online travel booking company. In the early 2000s, they started taking online bookings. In the following years, the site expanded massively, introducing lots of different destinations. By 2011, major countries were also introduced, like Vietnam and Indonesia.
